Scott Hageman, Worship and Music Director
I was born in Yokota Air Base, Japan; the only child of a U.S. pilot and popular recording artist. My maternal grandparents were touring Country & Western musicians. We moved back to the states when I was two years old, and finally settled down in Texas during 1968.
I met my wife Michele in high school and we married six years after I graduated from UTSA in the summer of 1984. I sung and played guitar since I was a young boy and then started playing publicly in my mid-thirties.
Michele and I became members of ORBC in 2010, first serving on the Worship Team, and then Assimilation Director in 2022 and becoming an ordained Deacon. Being asked to lead Worship was a surprise and a fulfillment of a dream to spend my life praising my Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
Tony Fuentes, Chairman of Deacons
Luis Calo, Youth Ministry Director
Sharon Ambrize, Children’s Ministry Director
I’m Sharon—Houston-born, mostly San Antonio-raised, and shaped by two parents who could make anything happen with hard work and a whole lot of determination. My dad spent long days in construction, my mom ran the home and raised three girls, and together they taught me faith, resilience, and how to roll up my sleeves and get things done.
I earned my MA in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M University–San Antonio, graduating with academic excellence. I also hold a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (Teacher Education), cum laude, with a minor in Reading from The University of the Incarnate Word. I love meeting children at their unique learning style and guiding them in the way they grow best.
At ORBC, I serve as the Director of Education, which means I get to do all the things I love: creating curriculum, planning programs, encouraging families, and leading children’s ministries from six months through 5th grade. I stay busy, but I love every minute of it.
What makes ORBC home for me is the connection—the feeling that we’re truly a family. I’m grateful every day that I get to serve, create, love our community, and help kids discover how much God adores them.
